Last week, Samsung began rolling out the Android security patch of May 2022 to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The new security update was released to the LTE variant of the phone as well. The latest Security maintenance Release (SMR) is being rolled out widely to the Galaxy A53 5G.
The May Security maintenance Release (SMR) is already available over the air (OTA) for the Galaxy S20 FE LTE users that are in several countries across the world, including Panama, Brazil, Vietnam and Chile. This update should get to more regions in a few days to come. The phone has the new firmware version to be G780GXXS3CVD7.
As of now this writing is being done, it appears that the rollout is limited to the devices of Galaxy S20 FE LTE that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor. However, those that are being powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 990 chipset should pick up the new Security maintenance Release (SMR) very soon as well.
Although the firmware version may be quite different a bit but it doesn’t matter anyways. Samsung is also currently widely rolling out the May Security maintenance Release (SMR) to the Galaxy A53 5G.
SamMobile has confirmed that this premium mid-range smartphone that is newly-launched, is receiving the update in so many countries in Europe. The firmware version that is updated for the device is A536BXXU2AVD7.
Furthermore, it has received the latest security patch in Asia and in the US over the past couple of weeks. The Galaxy A53 5G is also receiving some bug fixes and camera-related optimizations, together with the May SMR.
To a certain degree, the device is new so you can expect Samsung to do more of such optimizations because it boosts the reliability of the early software build that the smartphone was shipped with.
As regards the content of the May security patch, Samsung has said that its Android-powered Galaxy tablets and smartphones are getting fixes for about 50 vulnerabilities with the latest release.
It was on Google’s version of Android that the majority of those issues were found. But the Korean firm, Samsung has as well worked on the flaws of quite a few of the exclusive security of Google.
More Users Of The Galaxy S20 FE LTE and Galaxy A53 5G Are Being Treated by Samsung With May SMR
