Oppo Reno 8 : Interesting Features You Need To Know About

There have been so many leaks and rumors about the expected Oppo Reno 8 which may launch later this year. But it looks like it would occupy the space left for the unreleased OnePlus 10, having a design that’s rather looking familiar. Below are things we know about the device so far.

When Will The Oppo Reno 8 Be Released

There is no official date for the release of the Oppo Reno 8 at this point of writing. In fact, the company has not said whether the leaks we’ve been seeing are of a real device. However, we have the previous generation to use as a guide.

The Reno 7 range was announced in November 2021 by Oppo and it went on sale in December 2021 in China, which was followed by India, in February.

If Oppo continues this schedule then we expect the Reno 8 to be launched in November 2022, though it appears those in Europe won’t see it until much later.

Since we do not have confirmation on the existence of the device, there is no official pricing that is available. Looking back at the previous prices for some clues. Here is how they are lined up:

  • Reno 7 8GB/128GB – ¥2,699
  • Reno 7 8GB/256GB – ¥2,999
  • Reno 7 12GB/256GB – ¥3,299

However, many of the leaks we’ve seen suggest that the Oppp Reno 8 may be the model of the OnePlus 10 that didn’t show this year together with the OnePlus Pro. Putting that in mind also, here are prices for the OnePlus 9:

  • OnePlus 9 8/128GB – £629/$729/€699
  • OnePlus 9 12/256GB – £729/€799

As you can see, there’s a little bit of a difference in the price between the Reno 7 and the OnePlus, so we are guessing that the Reno 8 price will be somewhere between the two or real close to the OnePlus that is more expensive.

What Specs and Features Will We See In The Oppo Reno 8?

Different rumors have been appearing on tech sites and social media feeds which display a potential device that looks a lot like the one people think will be OnePlus 10.

The Reno 8 reportedly looks similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, so if the leaks are accurate then it suggests that Oppo will certainly pick up from where OnePlus off. Oppo Reno 8 will feature a 6.55in FHD+ AMOLED display together with a 120Hz refresh rate (same with the OnePlus 9) having a 50Mp IMX766 sensor in the main camera.

There’s no Hasselblad branding showing on the camera section of Oppo, same as it is on the OnePlus 10 Pro, however, this is consistent with the cheaper models. Apart from this, there are no other available details.

Because the OnePlus 9 contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, we feel that Oppo Reno 8 will likely move up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is the mainstay of most Android devices that’s premium in 2022.

Aside from this, we are not certain how much the new device will be different from what we saw with the OnePlus 9. As a guide on the type of spec sheet you may see, below is the one for the OnePlus. For sure, there is room for various upgrades but this should provide the base level to expect of the components at least.
