It can be tedious when you’re installing apps from Google Play Store on your Android TV. So, initially, when Google started allowing users to install through their smartphones, it was a step in the right direction.
Google Play Store has now been updated so that users can filter the apps that they’re specifically looking for, for other devices.
This makes it easier for users to search for things that can be installed on their devices without using the actual device to search for them.
More About The Google Play Store Filter For Devices
It’s been shared that a new option will now be seen on Google Play Store to filter results when searching for an app. On the top left corner of the screen, when you tap the search button, you’ll see a green button that reads “This device”.
After tapping on the button, you’ll be shown list of all the devices that are linked to your Google account. The list of devices you’ll be shown are those that are signed in to the same Google account you’re currently viewing on your Google Play Store.
Though if you have multiple Google IDs, it’s only those that are in your current account that you’ll see. However, the default option will show apps that are available for your phone.
Only apps that are supported on the TV will be displayed If you tap on Android TV. This may seem like a minor change to make but it is something that’s important for users with multiple devices.
The option to choose which device to install an app in has been available for the Google Play Store on the web. Now smartphone users will start seeing it on the Play Store app together with a server-side update.
