Soon after Google announced the relaunch of Google Wallet as a single location to keep all of your payment cards, papers, and passes, Samsung followed suit by integrating Pay and Pass into a single service named Samsung Wallet.
Samsung, on the other hand, seems to be moving far faster than Google in implementing the new service. While the Samsung Wallet software is now available for download on the Galaxy Store, Google Wallet is still missing.
The Wallet app is now available in the Galaxy Store, as reported by SamMobile, and has taken over the listing for Samsung Pay, which was previously located at the same URL.
This means that rather than establishing a new software, Samsung has decided to make Wallet an upgrade to the current Pay app, making the move easier for everyone.
More On The New Samsung Wallet
Your credit cards, boarding passes, tickets, ID cards, health or immunization records, and even passwords and cryptocurrency credentials may all be stored in the new Wallet app. You may also save your key in a few chosen autos.
This makes the Wallet software a legitimate wallet substitute, at least until authorities and other third parties confirm that all of their data is compatible with Wallet. Samsung Knox, the company’s secure environment for mobile devices, keeps everything safe.
You must first authenticate by biometrics or your screen lock PIN, depending on whatever data you wish to view. The new unified service is now being rolled out in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
If you don’t want to actively look for the app, Samsung will ask you to upgrade to the new service whenever you open the Pay or Pass app. All Samsung phones running Android 9 Pie or above can use Wallet.
Meanwhile, despite Google unveiling it with great excitement during Google I/O 2022 in May, Google Wallet has yet to be released to the public.
